John 6 Turn Aside Bible Study

In his teachings, John dedicates over sixty verses to the concept of abundant life, urging people to view their daily experiences through the lens of eternity. However, by the end of the chapter, many followers chose to walk away, claiming that Jesus spoke “hard truths.” Unfortunately, most who witnessed His miracles failed to grasp their deeper significance. Even today, we are presented with the offer of abundant, eternal life, but the decision remains ours: will we embrace it, or will we allow our human desires to dictate our daily choices? As we delve into John 6, over 7 lessons, we are challenged to reflect on our motives for coming to Jesus and our expectations of Him once we do. We are encouraged to trust that the abundant life He promises may differ from our initial hopes, yet it is ultimately far better, more glorious, and truly worth pursuing.

Days and Times

The Men's Bible study session meets on Wednesday nights from 7pm-9pm beginning September 10th.

Women have the choice of attending either Wednesday nights from 7pm-9pm beginning September 10th or Thursday mornings from 10am-12pm beginning September 11th.

Our first meeting will be an introduction where you will meet your small group and receive your study.

What will my study look like?

You will receive your study the first week we meet. Studies are free and will be printed out and 3 hole punched.  Please plan to have a binder to put your study in. If you prefer a digital copy of the study, you can email office@thecitygateschurch.org once the study is available.

Registration and Communication

If you will be joining us for this Bible study, you MUST register. Registration enables you to get a study and receive communications via email regarding any changes, updates, and possible cancellations (weather or otherwise). 

Will Children's Ministry be available?

Yes, children's ministry will be available for all sessions. Our goal for children's classes is to provide ample workers to ensure the children are safely cared for and taught. In order for us to provide this, we need your assistance by registering ASAP. The one-time cost is $15/child for the entire study. When you register, please "add on" the cost for as many children as you will bring. If you "add on" for your child(ren), you will then be asked to click a link to fill out an online form. This gives us important information about your child(ren) so we can ensure they are in our electronic system and that we have all the information necessary to care for them well. Please be sure to fill out the form for your child(ren) or your registration will be incomplete and you will not receive important email updates from us.
